My New Spring Bag

The winter rain and chill winds are leaving. Spring is just around the corner so you know what that means, it's time for a new spring bag! If you have been following me for a while, you know that I pretty much only wear black. So, for spring I am making the obvious transition into... wearing grey! I have the perfect bag from HAZLMAY for you in this post that I find to be high quality and perfect for any occasion.

Hazlmay Abi Crossbody Saddle Bag

The bag comes with a zipper compartment with an interior slip pocket that fits my iPhone perfectly. You can either use the long strap as a crossbody bag or hold the bag by the gold chain for a cute handbag. The zipper also feels expensive, because who likes zippers that don't actually zip?!

I've paired this bag with a spring outfit consisting of a classic black dress and a white cardigan. I topped it off with some OTK boots. I can stay just warm enough for spring, yet the dress and the bag brings the spring vibes to the outfit.

Spending Valentine's with Daniel Wellington

You have probably seen Daniel Wellington watches before. If you haven't, quickly go on Instagram and you will see it. I'm so happy to add Daniel Wellington to my watch collection and I can't wait to wear it on Valentine's Day. I chose the Classic Black 36 MM Sheffield in Rose Gold watch (linked below) because I loved just how black it was! It matches perfectly with my usual black ensemble as well as my Valentine's Look (check out my previous blog post for details). I can't wait to wear it next week on my date. Wearing this watch gives me instant confidence because I feel so chic and classy. Just what I need for my Valentines.

Since I know that many people absolutely adore these watches, this is the perfect Valentine's Day gift!

The leather is extremely high quality and the watch fits perfectly on my wrist. I have small wrists usually watches are too big for me, but the smallest size of the DW watch fits me perfectly. The watch face and straps are also interchangeable, so if you get bored you can just switch up the look. I personally also love the classic white watch face with the brown straps. Scroll to the bottom to see all the different options.

Not convinced? Here are more reasons to give a DW watch as a gift:
The watch also comes with a beautiful box and bag, so you don't even have to wrap the present. I'm personally pretty awful at wrapping gifts, so the cute bag is a life savior for me! If you order now, Daniel Wellington is gifting a beautiful heart charm along with your order. Now wouldn't that be a surprise for your date ;). Also, since I know shopping can get expensive, you can use the code "WONDERLOST" for 15% off your purchase! You're welcome.

If you get the watch or have the watch, please tag #wonderlostDW on Instagram, so that both Daniel Wellington and I can see how you style it! I'll be featuring my favorite shots on my Instagram story.

The Valentine's Day Dress

Valentine's Day is coming up in just a week! But don't fret, whether you have plans with your significant other, friends, or just by yourself (totally fine! I do it all time), I got a dress inspo for you. This year, I'm wearing this MakeMeChic dress. It is JUST the perfect dress to go out on. I usually look like a mixture of hobo and chic, so I figured I might as well flaunt what I got on this special day ;). This dress screams edgy and glamorous while showing off them legs. Got to show off those leg results, am I right or am I right?

I'll admit, this dress is a little bit shear, so I had to wear shorts underneath, but besides that I loved it. The flower print is lined with velvet and every time I walk around in this dress I feel amazing. I even wore this at home when I was studying because I just wanted to feel glamorous. I finished off the look with a classic black bag and a classic black watch. I had to incorporate black into my look some how to make this look #wonderlost

I hope you found some inspiration in this look or even want to match with me! #wonderlostvalentines to show me your Valentine's look! I would LOVE to see what you wore so I can get a little inspo myself :)

Smile Brilliant Professional Teeth Whitening Giveaway

Everybody needs their coffee. I personally cannot function if I don’t start my day with the perfect latte. Plus, those lattes make for the perfect Instagram photos, am I right? ;)

However, all the coffees I’ve been drinking lately is seriously showing on my teeth and when I smile all I can think is “ugh people are seeing my coffee stained teeth”. I whitened my teeth around six years ago with Crest Whitening Strips, but I got really sensitive teeth and never wanted to try it again. This time around, I decided to try something new to remove the stains from my teeth. SmileBrilliant is a brand that creates the perfect teeth whitening kits for you to use at home AND they are customized to your teeth.

You’re probably wondering now, that sounds just like something a dentist would do. How does it work? Is it complicated? But don’t worry, I thought that too at first, but it was so easy for me.

Here are the steps broken down:

1)    Smile Brilliant sends you the whitening kit straight to your door

2)    You use the clay given and make a mold of your teeth. This literally reminded me of playing with PlayDoh and it took only 10 minutes.

3)    Ship the mold back with a pre-paid for shipping bag

4)    Get your new personal teeth whitening tray back within a week!

5)    Apply whitening gel and desensitiving gel for ~ an hour before going to sleep

6)    BAM instant white teeth.

Also a video to explain it in case you’re a visual learner just like me :)

Here are my before and after pictures:

I used it for a few weeks and I’ve been extremely happy with the results. Because of the desensitiving gel, I’ve been able to use it consistently and I don’t have to worry about whether or not I can eat the next day. I’ve actually even been whitening my teeth when I’m driving because it’s a great way to stay productive when stuck in traffic.

Whitening as I go

After finishing the kit, I can now smile confidently and the more I smile, the happier I get! As you can see, my whitened teeth were really uneven and I had spots of yellow before. After using the kit, the product smoothed out the colors in my teeth so my smile is now completely white. I highly recommend this kit if you don’t want to pay those steep prices at the dentist, but still get the dentist results!

Still don't believe me?
Here are some testimonials from other users: SmileBrilliant

Now comes the fun part, it's GIVEAWAY TIME. I want to help YOU get nice white pearly teeth so you can smile confidently wherever you are. Plus, it's almost Valentine's Day, so why not? :) Winner gets ONE Smile Brilliant Whitening kit. Deadline for giveaway is February 14th, 2017 at 11:59 PM PST. Only one entry per person.

Trend Alert: Long Bomber Jackets

Remember those bomber jackets that was heavily trending for the past few months? Don't worry, they are still here to stay! I personally am obsessed with this look. I was so happy when I started to see long bomber jackets trending because it's cold and who doesn't want more jacket to stay warm!

Pictured Above: Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner rocking the long bomber coat trend

I'm from California, so I don't really need puffer jackets. A long thick bomber jacket is perfect for me. With the right amount of layering, you could rock them anywhere. To embrace my inner Californian, I paired this long bomber jacket from Romwe with a mesh button up shirt. I added a pair of ripped jeans because bomber jackets scream edginess to me and so do these jeans. I topped it off with some fun boots to lighten up the mood of this outfit.

The other items of clothing were not available online, but I have compiled some of my favorite dupes below:

All Ruffled Up

The ruffle shirt trend has blown up the internet and of course I had to incorporate it into my wardrobe. This new trending detail makes any outfit look designer because it's such an elegant addition. The ruffles also scream girliness, which is a perfect contrast to my own edgy style. I opted for the classic white blouse with large sleeve ruffles from SheIn because it screams classiness. The shirt is thick enough to give me the structured boxy shape I was looking for and the ruffles stay in place, so I can show them off as I walk around town. (It also seriously photographs so well and is extremely comfortable!) I paired it with a simple black skirt from Zara with a zipper detail to add more character to my outfit. I finished it off with shoes from Ippo Shop. I chose the lace up heels because the heels have a feminine vibe and it fit perfectly with the shirt.  Let me know if you give this trend a try! Hashtag your outfit with #wonderlostxx so I can check it out :)

Upgrade that Look

You have probably been guilty of just throwing on a sweater, leggings, and boots and ran out of the door. Don't worry, I've totally been there especially because I'm always running late in the mornings. In today's post, I've got the solution to this last minute look, an adorable sweater and edgy leggings! This sweater from ShopSugarSands looks like the classic grey sweater. However, once I turn to the side, you can see the amazing lace up details. This is SUCH a trend this year and what a great way to incorporate lace up into your outfit without it screaming in people's faces. If you're going somewhere professional, just throw a blazer over this sweater and BAM you're ready. As for the leggings, they are also from ShopSugarSands. I just LOVE how it looks like faux leather. I'm all about incorporating that edginess into my outfit and this is the perfect way. People can't call you out for throwing on leggings if they're incredibly chic right?! To finish off the outfit, I threw on a pair of heels from ShoeMint that I bought years ago to make this look appropriate for the night. I would easily swap it out for OTK boots if you're running around during the day. I topped it off with a classic black bag and necklace to add a little something to this look.

Travel Diary: Iceland

I've been dreaming about going to Iceland for a long time and thanks to the dropping airfares lately, I decided to go this winter. I was there for four days and got to see most of the natural attractions I wanted to see. Unfortunately, the weather blocked most of Northern Iceland, but there was still a lot to do in Southern Iceland.

Day 1:
On the first day in Iceland, we landed at 7:00 AM in the KEF airport and picked up our rental car from Sixt. I recommend getting a heavy duty four wheel drive that is approved for highland conditions because the roads were incredibly icy and we experienced several hail/storm/wind/rain storms that rocked our already-very-heavy car. From the airport, we went straight to the Golden Circle. There is only 4 hours of daylight during the winter, so we had to get there while the sun was still out.... or when the sun came out and left. It was roughly a two hour drive to the airport and we made it to our first destination: Laugarvatn Fontana.

Laugartvn Fontana Outside View

This place is a thermal bath house, but we just came to admire the view.

Next, we went to the Geysir, which is the second destination in the Golden Circle

Geysir pre-erruption

The Geysir destination has a cute restaurant, parking lot, and a short hike to see all the little geysirs + the big one. This was a great place to stop for lunch, take that much needed restroom break, and enjoy the short walk. The water holes were so beautiful in person and I highly recommend visiting this stop. Warning: it smells like sulfur here! So does all of Iceland's water...

Afterwards, we drove to the Gullfoss waterfall in the pouring rain.

Gullfosss Waterfall from Middle Viewpoint

This double layered waterfall was incredible in person, but it requires a hike to the different viewpoints. This is a MUST see and don't forget to layer up because it's very very cold here. There are also hikes around the waterfall, but due to the rain and lack of sun, we decided skipped it.

After seeing the three main Golden Circle attractions, we drove to our cabin in Hella, Iceland. Many of these towns have one restaurant with overpriced food, so I recommend buying groceries and cooking.

Day 2:

We left our cabin around 7:00 AM and drove along the coast of Iceland to Skaftafell (5 hours drive). Along the way, we stopped by two gorgeous waterfalls in the dark: Selfjalandfoss and Skogafoss. They were ten minutes away from each other. We went back to both of these waterfalls in the daylight as well, but I thought going at night was more miraculous because you are by yourself with just the waterfall. For Selfjalandfoss, there is a trail that can lead you behind the waterfall.

Selfjalandfoss at night

Skogafoss at night

After the waterfalls, we reached the glacier and went on a Glacier Hike Tour of Skaftafell. This hike consisted of wearing crampons to walk on the ice, see a mini-version of Glacier Lagoon, and we got the opportunity to explore ice caves in the glacier.

Mid-glacier hike on Skaftafell

After a long hike, we drove two hours back to Vik, which is a town located in the middle of Southern Iceland. I recommend looking for $ restaurants because $$ restaurants had >$50 meals. Not worth it, in my opinion. We had some yummy lamb galoush and called it a night in our Airbnb.

Day 3:
The next morning, we adventured around Vik and went to the famous black sand beach. This beach had the SOFTEST black sand I have ever felt and the rock formations were absolutely incredible. I HIGHLY recommend this place even though we got hailed on on the beach

Black Sand Beach at 10:00 AM

After attempting to take pictures in the hail, we ventured off back to Reykjavik. On the way, we saw many Icelandic horses and took pictures with them. We also stopped at all the waterfalls mentioned earlier to experience them in the day.

Unfortunately, there were many tour buses there already and the experience was not the same. In Reykajvik, we walked around and explored the town. Our original plan was to see the Northern Lights, but unfortunately it was too cloudy that night and we could not see anything.

Day 4:

Today was supposed to be our relaxed day at the Blue Lagoon, but we forgot to book tickets! You MUST book tickets in advance because the tickets sell out months ahead. We were lucky and took two spaces that opened last minute. While waiting for our time slot, we stopped by the Viking World Musuem in Keflavik. It was closed for the winter, but we were able to wander around the viking hut replicas. This was a great place to learn about Icelandic history. The Blue Lagoon was an amazing experience despite the strong gusts of wind. I recommend getting the comfort package because it includes a drink and two face masks + a towel which is definitely needed. We spent a few hours just floating around and it was so relaxing. The perfect way to end the trip despite not being able to see the Northern Lights!

The next morning, we took off to London. The trip was amazing and I definitely want to come back in the summer. I hope you all enjoyed reading and please let me know if you need any more recommendations if you are also planning a trip there! I'd be happy to respond to emails, DMs, or write another blog post :)

Transitioning Summer Clothes

I'm a little late on the transitioning summer clothes to winter clothes trend, but I thought it's never too late to post about it! To be fair, California has only recently started to get cold :). I wore this little black dress to death over the summer and I was really sad that I couldn't wear it during the winter. However, I simply paired it with a white blouse that I found at the bottom of my wardrobe and my outfit suddenly screamed instant chic and winter appropriate! I wanted to jazz it up with these adorable heels from Ippo Shoes. These lace up heels add the instant street style spice that I love in my outfits! I definitely got many glances as I stormed through San Francisco. This outfit can also be easily toned down with flats and you look instantly professional and ready for work. Feeling Good about Fashion

The fashion industry is fast paced and honestly a little wasteful. We have trends coming in every season and it is important for retailers to keep up with the next new trending item. Although I fully understand the situation, I am unhappy with the quality of my clothes and how cheap the material used is.
I recently discovered Synergy Clothing, which is a clothing brand that uses only organic cotton and is created by people who were paid a decent amount of money to make. I love spending more money when I know that the money is going to a family that is working hard for the dollars. I also feel great supporting organic cotton because it is important to keep bad synthetics off of our body to prevent allergic reactions and to just overall avoid more artificial chemicals on our bodies.

For this post, I styled a poncho and long black sleeved shirt from Synergy Clothing to show you how you can stay fashionable and warm while still feeling good about what you are wearing. I thought a poncho layered over long sleeved shirt was PERFECT for the fall. The long sleeved shirt is a staple for every girl's wardrobe and a poncho is the perfect seasonal layering piece. This combo definitely kept me warm in the chilly SF wind and I received a few compliments while wearing the pieces.

The black pants and black boots was the perfect way to finish off the outfit because if you have been following me for a while, you know I love my black items of clothing ;)

Staying Untangled with Sudio Sweden

Aside from blogging, I am a student who is constantly running around between classes and squeezing in gym sessions when I can. Yes, I was that person that was constantly getting my headphones yanked out of my ears and tripping over them because I completely forgot that I was tied to my computer/phone. After being frustrated by the fact that I was constantly tangled in wires, I actually did switch over to wireless headphones. I began to use the Plantronics Backbeat Fit Bluetooth Headphone. At first, I LOVED being finally free from my phone and computer. It felt great to be able to walk away from my computer and still have my music playing. However, I was not a fan of the headphone quality. To be fair, I am a little spoiled because I also use Dr. Dre and BOSE headphones. The Plantronic headphones were just not the same.

This month, I switched over to the Sudio VASA BLÅ wireless earbuds and my life got way way better!
1) These earbuds actually fit in my ears (they also provide different sizes so no worries if you think we have different size ears).
2) They are really light and come with a pouch, so I don't have to worry about misplacing it.
3) They are also way more stylish than my old headphones, so they complete my outfit when I wear it around my neck.
4) Lasts for a good number of hours before needing to recharge!

The headphones come with the guarantee certificate, pouch, headphones, earbud charger, a clip to hold the earbuds around your neck, and different size earbuds to accommodate everyone.

I added the Sudio VASA BLÅ wireless earbuds to my current favorites because of its high quality. These allow me to listen to music when I'm working and block out the noises and to walk around campus with my phone in my backpack. In addition, it works great at the gym and doesn't fall out of my ears when I run. I highly recommend this pair!!

Back of the box description of all the components the earbuds come with

Last, I have exciting news for you. These headphones are now available at Best Buy, so you can even check out the product yourself in person! This also makes for a great holiday present or a great way to spend that Best Buy gift card you get.

Let me know if you try it out down below in the comments!

My legs are currently becoming incredibly pasty thanks to current fall weather. As someone who loves tanning in the summer, I was so happy when I had the chance to try out HelloSexyLegs new body bronzing products! They recently just launched in Sephora, so you can easily pick some up in store or online. These also make for great holiday presents or stocking stuffers.

The products I'm reviewing today are:
1) Tinted Glow Gel - $38
2) Contour Stick - $21
3) Illuminating Fluid - $34

The Tinted Glow Gel is basically a tinted moisturizer. It has slight shimmer in the lotion so your leg gets an overall glow I could definitely see an instant tan on my legs and I was so happy! The only downside is that your hands get tan as well, but that is easily fixed after you wash your hands :)

The Contour Stick is similar to a stick bronzer for your face. The color itself is pretty dark and once it dries on the leg its hard to move. I recommend rubbing it immediately once you apply! You can use this to outline your muscles to give you that amazing definition we all dream of.

The Illuminating Fluid is definitely my favorite! I got excited and applied a lot, but a little goes a long way. This is VERY shimmery, but it makes your legs pop from far away! I recommend using just a pump. I also love how it comes in a pump because it makes the product a lot more hygienic!

Overall, I love all these products! It's the perfect way to make your legs look flawless for those upcoming holiday parties. And if you're a little lazy sometimes like me, it makes you look like you just worked out ;)

Here is the process outlined in photos:

Added tinted gel, contour stick, and illuminating fluid (you don't need this much!!)

Applying more tinted gel because I love the color!

After: the picture does not do the results justice! But you can still spot the shimmer

Links to the product are above, let me know if you try these products out!

Chai Spiced Apple Clafoutis

This month I had the opportunity to try out RawSpiceBar ! They are a spice kit subscription service that brings three fresh spices from various regions around the world straight to your door every month. It costs $8 a month or only $6 a month/year. With the spices, RawSpiceBar also provides two yummy recipes to go along with them.

This month, I received:

  1. Unpumpkin Pie Spice
  2. Indo-French Vadouvan
  3. Peppercorn Chai

I decided to try out the Chai-Spiced Apple Chafoutis recipe that came with the Peppercorn Chai spice for you all!

The ingredients needed for this recipe are:

  1. 3 eggs
  2. 1 cup of milk or heavy cream
  3. 10 tbsp. butter
  4. 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  5. 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  6. 1/2 cup sugar
  7. 1/2 tsp. salt
  8. 4 tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  9. 1/2 cup plus 2 tsp. sugar
  10. 3 tbsp. brandy

The instructions are so simple:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine milk, eggs, 6 tbsp butter, vanilla, flour, sugar, and salt in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.
  2. Melt 4 tbsp butter in a large skillet. Add apples, 1/2 cup of sugar, RawSpiceBar's Peppercorn Chai and brandy. Cook until apples are glazed, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add half batter to greased pie plate. Arrange apple slices on top, reserving juices, then pour remaining batter over apples. Sprinkle remaining sugar on top and bake until golden, 25-30 minutes. Drizzle with warmed reserved apple juice.

Step 1

Please note to melt the butter first! I threw in the whole stick of butter and it was hard to whisk until smooth! No worries this did not affect the end result that much. Although it makes for a questionable picutre...

Step 2

Step 3 - please ignore that light glare! I need to work on my food photography :)

Step 3 - please ignore that light glare! I need to work on my food photography :)

The final dish!

Although the sides of my clafoutis didn't turn out perfect (accidentally folded them in woops!), it was really tasty! The baked apple mixed with the peppercorn chai tasted exactly like how I would imagine fall to taste. I don't usually bake, but this recipe was so fun and simple that I am definitely going to do this again. I highly recommend you all to try this especially for the holiday season! This dish will be a crowd pleaser at those holiday parties :)

Comment below if you have any questions and let me know if you do try it out!

My Julbox Jewelry Collection

Hey everyone!

I'm happy to announce an exciting project I've been working on with Julbox - my own jewelry collection! This is my first time designing jewelry and I wanted to design some simple and delicate pieces that can be easily incorporated into any outfit. I had a great time working with the Julbox team and they gave me great feedback on how to make some unique and creative. On the website, you can actually design some pieces for yourself to order! It's very easy to use the site and a great way to let your creative juices flow. I wanted to show you all my pieces in a blog post so I can explain them and show you how I style them. It would mean a great deal to me if you could check it out at: and give it lots of support!

My Julbox Jewelry Collection:

Keep It Simple Necklace

One of my life long mottos is to always keep things simple. Don't overthink problems and sometimes the simplest solutions are right in front of you! I've designed this necklace to represent simplicity. The simple bar has a tiny indent, which is just a small nuance to a basic rectangular shape. If you ever feel stuck in a creative rut, just remember a simple change can make a big difference!

Be Happy earrings

Fun and cute earrings to add some spark to your outfit. Pick up one with a crystal of your favorite color to brighten up your day. Stay smiley loves!

Love Forever pendant

Sometimes its hard to stay motivated, but when you ever feel down always remember that you are amazing and always loved! I've designed this necklace as a reminder to cheer up and stay true to yourself. The infinity bow in the middle represents the always and the heart around the bow represents the love. Pick one up for yourself to make sure you always stay positive!

How I style the pieces:

I always picture dainty necklaces with dresses, so I thought I'd pair them with a cute striped dress with bell sleeves from Asos. This dress is the perfect transition piece from summer to autumn because its long sleeves to protect you from the cold, yet still breezy for the leftover summer heat. I threw on a panama hat because I was still dreaming of being on vacation and finished the outfit off with dainty flats from Nordstroms. The necklace and earrings then add the perfect touch to the outfit.

My clothes were sold out, but I found some great alternatives online for you:

Fall Trend Alert: Tshirts under Dresses

YES to this trend! I'm all about transitioning summer outfits for the winter because who has all that money to buy a brand new wardrobe for the fall ?! At least I sure don't... Being able to wear t-shirts or even turtle necks under all your cute summer dresses is a great way to stay trendy while staying on a budget. I took a stab at this trend with this outfit. I paired my favorite black spaghetti dress from Tobi with a simple t-shirt from H&M. The choker I'm wearing is actually just a piece of ribbon! I found a bunch of ribbons in one of my boxes and thought why not just make them all into chokers, so here is one of them. Next, I threw on my Miu Miu's because I can't live without my sunglasses, put on some accessories from ThePeachBox (dc: wonderlostxx), and then put on some black boots from ShoeMint. I feel edgy and trendy and I love it! I highly encourage you all to give this trend a shot because it's fun and you can mix it up by mixing patterns, colors, textures, and more!

Travel Diary: Maui

I was in need for an island getaway, so I packed up my bags and made my way over to Maui. This was my first time there and it was just as spectacular as everyone makes it to be. Below, I've listed a few spots that I went to and added a little blurb about what I thought about them.

1. Haleakala National Park

I left this photo unedited because I want to show how truly beautiful this place was without any additional changes on the photo. This is a volcanic crater located about two hours away from Kihei, Maui. There is an outlook spot at 10,000 feet, but I would HIGHLY recommend the 12 mile hike. This hike takes you threw the entire crater and you get to see the progression of the volcano. You start off in this red-ish land that makes you feel like mars and end up in a jungle. It was definitely a life changing hike. I also highly recommend both the sunrise and sunset at the summit. You will be above the clouds which allows you to see the entire sunrise and sunset. I would get there around 4:00 AM if you're planning on watching the sunrise because there's a long line and they will cut you off if the summit is full.

2. Big Beach, Maui

If you're looking for soft sand and perfect waves, then this is the beach to go. It's not as touristy as the other beaches which means you get to be the first to walk upon all that soft sand. There are also volcano rocks in the surroundings. One beach over, and you're at another beach called Small Beach. This was the perfect place to lounge around and read.

3. Road to Hana

The Road to Hana is the Hana Highway, which starts at a town called Paia and ends in Hana. However the best part of this highway is the numerous amount of nature gems located on the way. I used the app called Maui Revealed and stopped at all the recommended places. The app does a better job explaining than I can, so I will refer you all there. I would recommend not worrying about the time and really enjoying yourself at each spot. Trust me, there is not much to see in Hana. I left around 8am and got back around 8pm, so load up on that coffee of yours if you're planning on doing a day trip. Some people like to stay the night in Hana and drive back. Both are great options!

Maui was amazing and I highly recommend you all to go there for a few days.

Let me know if you want me to talk about any of my other Hawaii experiences either down below or on my Instagram!

Travel Diary: New York

Hey everyone! I took a little trip to New York and thought I'd share with you all where I went and what I thought of them. Hopefully this can help you plan a great trip to New York!

1) Time Squares

This place is definitely a tourist trap. I honestly felt like I was going to suffocate and also worried I was gonna get whacked by a selfie stick. There are so many people and dancing elmos trying to rip you off. Also, the lights are so insanely bright from all the ads that it makes me feel like I'm going blind. I recommend going there once to experience this, but to never return again. If you do go, make sure to wave into that billboard that has a camera on the street.

2) Empire State Building

I basically went to every touristy place in New York and this place is definitely one, cue Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys. However, I actually really really enjoyed this one! I could never grasp what exactly New York looked like since theres a bridge here and then some park in the middle there. Going up to the 86th floor (too cheap to pay the extra $20 to go up to the 112th floor), I got to see all of New York and where everything was in New York finally visually made sense. New York is such an impressive city. It's worth going up to get wow'd for a small price of $36. I went Friday mid-afternoon and there was hardly a line. I heard it gets really packed over the weekend, so I would recommend coming here on the weekday. It's also windy up there so bring that jacket of yours.

View of New York from 86th floor

3) Chelsea Market

I find this place slightly overrated. There were an unimpressive amount of food places and they were all so insanely expensive. I tried the currywurst shop, craftbar, and the coffee shop. The currywurst shop was too salty, the craftbar famous pastrami sandwich made me want to cry cause it was spicy, and the coffee shop was just your good ole overpriced shop. I might have just chosen all the bad places to eat, so I would only recommend coming here if you have some food recs.

Some pretty lights in the market place

4) Broadway Show

Definitely watch one! I watched Phantom of the Opera after buying some cheap tickets off of Today Tix's and it was so worth it. Even though we were in nose bleed seats, the talent on Broadway is 100x better than the stuff here in California. I was so engaged into the show (could be due to the wine) and I really felt like I got the New York experience. Plus, its next to Times Squares so if your'e that tourist that wants to go check it out, it's super convenient. Note, no food allowed. I learned this the hard way

5) Katz's Delicatassen

Have you seen Harry Meets Sally? Yeah me neither, but apparently they come to this deli and eat here. There's even a sign so it must be true. But besides being famous for the movie, the food was SO GOOD. WOW. GET THAT PASTRAMI SANDWICH! It's perfectly cut, perfectly cooked, they give you SO much meat, yummy pickles, your own choice of bread. All for a whopping $16 (gotta love New York pricing). My friend got some soup that looked good but I didn't try it. Won't comment on it. Do note, you pay when you leave so don't lose that ticket of yours. I also got here at Thursday 11am and there was no line. Apparently theres usually a huge line, so I recommend weekdays before lunch.

So many options

5) Brooklyn Bridge

It's so Instaworthy. Enough said. I would recommend going to the DUMBO side and walking back because there are less people heading that direction. It's really worth the walk across because the wiring detail is so intricate and you really get to see the other side of New York. If you want to see the Statue of Liberty but don't want to travel over there, you can see it from the Brooklyn Bridge.

much wire

6) Grand Central Station

If you want that Gossip Girl Serena moment, yes come here! It's actually incredibly beautiful inside and I love how everybody there is off to another destination. There is a Magnolia's Bakery inside so if you want those yummy cupcakes here's your chance. There's also a cool wind tunnel area where you can face the wall as if you're in time out and the person on the other side can here you talk even if you whisper. There are also a bunch of shops so you could really just spend a long time in here.

I went to a few more places, but these were just the ones I felt strongly opinionated about. Feel free to comment below, slide into my DMs, or email me if you want to know more about my thoughts on New York or what else I did!

OOTD: Adding Some Edge

You have probably heard a million times that two classic staples to have in a woman's closet are a white blouse and black jeans. These two powerful clothing pieces can be dressed up or down and matched with almost anything. For instance, a white blouse can be worn with a skirt for a business look, with denim shorts for a casual look, with a slip underneath for a formal look, etc. Black jeans basically go with anything, enough said. I absolutely agree with every woman needing these items of clothing, but I do believe people can spice it up (also so that we don't look all the same!). I decided to edge up these two basic staples by going for a white blouse with a black string detail and pants with leather cut outs to add some edge. The strings on the blouse can be tied up into a bow but I left them untied for that effortless vibe. I can still pair these two pieces with almost any outfit, but I have added my own personal touch to them. I recommend you do the same to rock who you are out on the streets! To finish off the look, I threw on some House of Holland shades and Steve Madden sandals for battle that summer heat.

OOTD: Simply Girly

I'm personally not a huge girly girl. I tend to gravitate towards baggy shirts and leggings, but once out of the blue moon I really want to dress up. In this case, I was getting ready for dinner and thought I should wear something other than a leather jacket and shoes that are not Birkenstocks. I threw on this incredibly cute and comfy lace romper from BB Dakota. It gave me enough room for my food belly to grow and the off the shoulder cut showed off my tattoo and shoulders for a sultry vibe. Of course, I always need to add a bit of edge into my outfit so I threw on these House of Holland sunglasses from DITTO [dc: wonderlostxx for your first month free!] and put on my Daniel Wellington watches so I can get to dinner on time.
